Illuminapp is a genius idea from Daniel Bailey and Graham Finch at Bailey Arts – opening up a whole new market with his iconic illuminated artworks.
Illuminapp is the world’s first Smart enabled LED lighting solution for pictures. The lights are cleverly concealed within the frame, which lights the picture from behind and enables the user to alter the colour of LED light to match any mood or atmosphere. What’s more the colour can be changed at any time via the an app or with your voice using an Amazon or Google home device.
Daniel has been a mouldings' customer of Larson-Juhl for many years so when he was looking to partner with a supplier for his exciting new venture, he felt sure it would be a good fit.
Essentially, Larson-Juhl supplies a bespoke moulding which the IlluminApp team then adapts with a specially made routing process so that the frame can accommodate the technical wizardry and the Smart enabled gadgets.
The result is a frame that then displays one of a wide range of licensed images from Star Wars to Disney and Marvel.
The images are printed on vinyl for its translucent qualities, creating a truly spectacular piece of art.
The images can be replaced with a different visual at any time if desired and with a price point of £199, it is not surprising that Illuminapp is already selling very well.
Graham and Daniel are really pleased with their partnership with Larson-Juhl and told 4walls: “Bailey Arts and Larson-Juhl go back a long way. Not only did we know that the quality would be excellent but we also needed a manufacturer that could cope with high volumes, potentially on a global scale. We have big ambitions for what is a stunning piece of innovation, that once installed, simply needs a single plug socket!”
